Why is there just never enough time?
“I need more hours in the day”
How many times do you either say this yourself or hear it said a day?
Because I hate to break it to you but there is no way of us getting any more than 24 hours in our days, and no more than 7 of them in a week. I know, how totally unfair!
The truth is, it is flipping hard and sometimes impossible to try and fit everything in these days! Regardless of what industry you work in, whether you have children or no children, partner or no partner, work a shift job or a 9-5, we just don’t have enough time.
We are all under the impression that we have to be so many things all at once; career focussed, goal driven, fit, healthy, get outside, drink and eat certain things, spend time with our families and friends, have a social life, have time to ourselves, learn new things, read, listen to podcasts, travel….
Argh, where does it end? It is exhausting just reading this, right?
We have to start prioritising.
And priorities look different for everyone! Just because one person would rather work late to get a project in on time instead of cleaning the house, that’s OK! We are all different and to make the world go round, we all have to be different.
On average in the UK, we have 29,220 days to live.
Just take a moment to let that sink in.
If you are 30, 18,250 of those left. If you are 40, 14,600 left… you get the idea!
How many of those days are you going to stress over just having too much to do and not enough time to enjoy life?
Time to stop that.
Offload.
And for all the control freaks ( hi, me too! ) reading this, don’t panic, you can still be in control AND offload.
Believe me, you have to. In order to start living those days you have left. You have to pause, prioritise and offload what you can. If you have no idea where to start, that’s fine, that is exactly what I am here for.
